Looking for an all-round solution for
mechanical and biological filtration?
MATALA grids, mat and blocks are the latest
generation of filter media that are rapidly gaining interest in the market.
MATALA Filtration Media has many characteristics and
uses.
The high free volume of Matala and its excellent
3-dimensional distribution of the fibers allow for a smooth and even water flow throughout
the filter media.
Good and even adhesion of nitrifying bacteria to the
filter mat's fibers.
Very resistant against plugging by sludge build-up.
Cleaning of the filter grid or mat can be done fast
and easy.
Matala filtration media have a good resistance
against corrosion, weather, light, temperature fluctuations and chemicals.
Matala filtration media are easily cut with a knife,
circular saw or band saw.
Installation is possible in horizontal and vertical
direction.
The various densities of Matala can be used in
sequence or separately for unique filtration requirements.
Matala effectively separates large particles to
small and still maintains a very aerobic and free flow water without channeling.
Weight per sheet between 5 to 8 pounds depending on
density.
One sheet is 13 sq. ft., 8 sq. ft. equals 1 cubic
ft. of media.
One full sheet equals 1.6 cubic feet or 12 gallon
volume.
